Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead 8D Root Cause Corrective Action projects, guiding the teams through each step of the process while ensuring proper objective evidence and documentation.

  • Coach and mentor new RCCA practitioners for effective completion of RCCA projects.

  • Applies knowledge of quality policies and practices to develop, document, and maintain quality systems and operating procedures.

  • Actively review and develop manufacturing processes, ensuring they are maintained within “control” limits and product Quality is achieved.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate improvements in manufacturing (e.g. hardware and tool acceptance, variability reduction, developing key suppliers, and assembly operations, etc.).

  • Applies knowledge of engineering (e.g. manufacturing, tooling, quality, and statistics, etc.) to analyze requirements of contracts, drawings, and specifications to develop plans for the application of quality disciplines to processes.

  • Ability to compile, measure and analyze process capability data, models to perform trend analyses and risk assessments.

  • Compile and communicate Quality procedures and assist to ensure project procedures are developed, deployed, and maintained.

  • Assist in the deployment of the Quality Policy strategy effectively within the project and ensure it is reflected and delivered within the product and supporting processes.

  • Report regularly on the quality performance of the project, establish targets for improvement, analyze the data being generated to identify areas for improvement, and implement effective solutions.

  • Provide support to ensure the project continually conforms to company, customer and regulatory authority Quality requirements through the application of Product Audit and other appropriate tools.

  • To design and deliver the requisite Quality training to support project staff requirements and the specific training of quality engineers.

  • To support and contribute to the project Quality review mechanism ensuring focus on improvement and ensure all key quality issue are escalated within the business review structure to drive root cause correction.

  • Provide support to the project in terms of being the Quality focal point for customer, supplier, and regulatory authorities as appropriate.

  • Support the identification of training and development requirements of Quality Engineering staff through the PDR process.

  • Develops and uses statistical methodologies to ensure that specified levels of safety, reliability, and process capability are achieved, maintained, or improved.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering program.

  • 5+ years experience with RCCA or 8D.

  • 5+ years experience in Quality, Operations, and/or supply chain management.

  • Experienced in AS9100 / FAA / NADCAP compliant Quality systems to include authoring and deploying policies and procedures and auditing.

  • Working knowledge / proficiency in Quality tools such as PFMEA, DFMEA, GR&R, GD&T elements, etc.

  • Project management skills, demonstrated solid analytical skills, and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and oral, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt

  • Preferably be qualified to HNC level in a related Quality and Engineering discipline.

  • Have 5+ years relevant engineering experience, within a Quality Engineering environment.

  • Awareness of drawings and systems as applied within our major customers such as Boeing and Airbus.
