Job Overview

Jensen Hughes has an exciting job opportunity for a national Business Development Executive, Federal Civilian. The successful candidate will partner with Operations and other Business Development leaders throughout the company to drive new orders and proposals for professional consulting services including life safety, fire protection, industrial process safety, and security across major markets. Within this partnership, the successful candidate will be a confident sales leader, with a client focused service-oriented attitude, both internally and externally and must live within the contiguous United States of America.

Responsibilities

  • Business Development is accountable for driving new Orders and Proposals with a focus on selling our line of professional consulting services and winning new large complex projects.

  • This position will drive personal sales and have a focused target area of Federal Civilian agencies.

  • Ability to interact comfortably with Executive Management and Board Members of clients.

  • Act as client's point of contact for engagement and delivery.

  • Lead project work streams and manage engagement team.

  • Interface directly with clients on a regular basis, to ensure customer satisfaction with project delivery, identifying additional opportunities for company solutions.

  • The BD responsibilities will include opportunity identification, client engagement, go / no go decision accountability, development of the capture strategy, and to lead throughout the qualification and contract negotiation process.

  • The position leads Federal Civilian agencies business development in services involving life safety, fire protection, industrial process safety, and security across all major markets.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years’ experience selling consulting services within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) industry.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Operations and driving orders and proposals for professional consulting services.

  • Network of General Contractors as well as Architects, Engineers, and End Clients

  • Advanced communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to create and deliver sales presentations using modern office tools (MS PowerPoint, MS Dynamics, Excel).

  • Ability to build and manage an expense budget.

  • Willingness to travel (up to 50%).

  • Candidates with prior business development experience in fire and life safety consulting services highly desirable.

  • Candidates with a Professional Engineering registration preferred.
