A Construction Project Engineer is needed for a leading manufacturing organization in the western St. Louis, MO metro area. This role involves overseeing engineering and construction planning functions. The Construction Project Engineer will lead end-to-end project management: defining scopes, and managing bids, schedules, budgets, and contractors while ensuring comprehensive reporting, safety adherence, and effective stakeholder collaboration.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management, coupled with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in managing construction projects across various scopes. Proficiency in design/building construction engineering and adept schedule management are crucial, alongside a strong command of Microsoft Office Suite. Familiarity with AutoCAD, Blue Beam, and Microsoft Visio is advantageous. A comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, construction drawings, and specifications review is essential. Desired qualifications include a technical grasp of project scheduling and estimating, coupled with knowledge of construction safety programs to ensure a holistic approach to project management.

  • Develop comprehensive project scopes for bidding processes

  • Manage project bids, analyzing options, and recommending approvals

  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and reporting

  • Generate detailed project status reports covering schedule, budget, safety, and open issues

  • Monitor contractor performance across safety, cost, and schedules

  • Collaborate on user criteria documentation and procurement scopes

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors for site visits and responses

  • Manage contractor payments, change directives/orders, and quality control programs
