It unleashed a new leaner and more agile organisation with an experienced cross-functional leadership team with full accountability for the brands P&L.

On Friday 15thDecember, it was announced that Unilever was to sell the Spreads business to KKR and the transfer of ownership is expected to take place in July 2018. Position Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to develop the Supply Plan and Finite Schedules for the Spreads category. This position provides day to day direction and support to the Material Planner.

Also provides input for the annual estimate financial plan volumes, and long-term capacity plans.

The position acts as a focal point of execution of sales and marketing initiatives. The position objective is to manage Master Production Planning and Inventory Planning with the goal of lowering Supply Chain costs/inventory and improving customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Supply Planning:

Execute the supply planning process of capacity planning, inventory planning and the development of the Master Production Plan.

Key interface between Demand Planning, Supply Management, the factories, Strategic Planning, Capabilities and Logistics/Warehousing/Deployment.

Prepare Master Plan using SAP, APO, and any other planning tools.

In the absence of local Innovation management, manage and support projects that are within the Brand, i.e. Innovations, Renovations, Transitions, Capacity Planning, and Value Improvement Programs.

Key member of the Category teams and Run Strategy reviews with the factories.

Responsible for SKU/Item setups with the Master Data teams, Factories, and other related parties.

Finite Scheduling:

Finite schedule production for the factory and issue valid production schedules considering all constraints and relevant QA and process sequencing.

Optimize the balance between customer Dispatch Rate, inventory levels, labour utilization, plant efficiencies, case output and flexibility.

Maintain APO/SAP integrity for production orders for finished goods, WIP.

Maintain general APO/SAP Data Integrity.

Maintain SAP Production Order integrity to allow MRP to reflect accurate material requirements.

Communicate daily attainment data to the factory.

Communicate weekly Output Reliability and PPW to the factory.

Review run rates with production and revise rates as appropriate.

Liaise with R&D, TIMQ, Packaging Development, Supply Chain Innovation and Supply Planning regarding the scheduling of plant trials and new product launches and ensure that timelines are met.

Maintain frequent communication with material planner to ensure that material requirements are met.

Meet daily with operations supervisors to reconcile priorities and to present remedies.

Participate in inventory counts and reconciliation for the packaging plant and processing areas.

Challenges:

Developing the Supply Plan/Finite Schedules to support the business objectives of the Brand/Category Group, support the initiatives from the Strategic, Innovation, and R&D teams while balancing the needs of Retail Canada and Food Solutions

Setting up new items/sku’s in SAP APO systems to model shipments and production.

Control inventory while protecting customer service through coordination with stock replenishment and operations.

Main interface between GtM Demand and the Manufacturing sites.

Balancing case requirements, inventory levels, plant efficiency, labour utilization and flexibility in order to satisfy expectations of all stakeholders i.e. Customer Service, Supply Planning, Production, Maintenance, TIMQ, R&D, QA and Supply Chain Innovation.

Ability to multi-task proactively and re-prioritize on a daily basis to accommodate the changing business requirements.

Ability to organize and manage time effectively

Ability to make quick decisions while collaboratively analyzing and pinpointing problems.

Strategic influencing to gain support for desired changes within unionized environment

Be knowledgeable and comply with Unilever’s rules and procedures as well as applicable standards and regulations

Scope:

1. Supply planning for Spreads, balance between the main factories in the network, and the associated production lines, plus Distribution Centers. Interface with Material Planners, Demand Planners, Marketing Managers, Quality Managers, R&D managers, Production Director, Production Managers, Production Supervisors, and the Master Data team.

2. Manage the Planning system (SAP APO).

3. Lead various initiatives that demonstrate leadership, experience, and capability in role.

4. Responsible for the efficient scheduling and management of finished goods in a unionized environment; manufacturing over 210 million pounds per annum. Annual NSV $250M for Canada Retail

5. Provide day to day direction and support to the factory Material Planner

Key Requirements:

Undergraduate degree in Business, Logistics, Operations Planning, Engineering or related fields

APICS certification or progress towards certification preferred.

A minimum of 5 -7 years’ experience in Planning or Supply Chain

High proficiency in PC based software tools (Microsoft Office Suite), SAP, APO, PLM, and GMMD.
