What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be a key part of an innovative, “first to market” technology culture, contributing to CIBC’s digital transformation. As a Production Application Support Specialist, you will join CIBC’s Remote Banking & Shared Services Technology department to provide technical expertise for small to medium, complex projects/initiatives as they relate to the implementation and support of application and/or infrastructure technology in a multi platform environment. The ideal candidate would have experience in designing network components and exposure with F5. Additionally, this role may be on call at times, and required to be accessible 24/7.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

  • Relationship Management – Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, and implement application program. Impact and improve the business by advising application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements

  • Understanding Requirements – Track and analyze operating environment for specified services and implement corrective actions as needed. Work with clients and internal partners to determine, negotiate and manage services to the agreed standards. Monitor service levels to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Detail Oriented: You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate experience in 9+ years experience as a Consultant in development/providing application support and have strong technology experience in Java/J2EE, API, Software Architecture, Networking, DevOps and have experience with defining, implementing changes to, and supporting a production applications. Our ideal candidate would have a background in Network Design and experience with F5

  • It's an asset if you have experience / familiarity with majority of the following technology environments: CaaS, scripting (shell); Oracle Databases; experience with Autosys and Feedhub; Version Control Software; Agile and DevOps concepts; Middleware (JBoss, Weblogic or Websphere), Jenkins, Github, Networking, Cloud concepts. You have strong knowledge of: Microsoft Windows, Linux RedHat and Unix Solaris operating systems; Basic Network Troubleshooting; Secure File Transfer protocols. It's an asset if you have knowledge of Dynatrace, Splunk and devops tools.
