Our cloud operations team is continuously expanding in terms of services and technology. We are looking for a Cloud Engineer with DevOps experience. You will be part of a team that keeps the business running for cloud products and services that are used 24×7 by Willis Towers Watson’s clients around the world. Our team in Manila will be around 70 colleagues working 24 x 7 during 3 shifts and we plan to grow further in coming years.

The Role

A Cloud Engineer (DevOps) designs, implements, and manages cloud-based solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. He also champions implementing and managing DevOps practices specifically within the Azure ecosystem, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and automated deployment processes. They often collaborate with development and operations teams to streamline software delivery and infrastructure management on Azure.

The following are key responsibilities we are looking for BUT we are keen to recruit talented individuals who have

a learning agility and looking to develop their career further.

1. Cloud Infrastructure Management:

• Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).

• Monitor resource utilization, performance, and scalability of cloud environments.

• Implement best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance.

2. Automation and Tooling:

• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and deployment.

• Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software delivery.

• Utilize infrastructure as code (IaC) principles to manage infrastructure configuration.

3. Collaboration and Support:

• Collaborate with software development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure and deployment processes.

• Assist in defining infrastructure requirements for new projects and initiatives.

4. Performance Optimization:

• Identify opportunities for performance optimization and cost reduction in cloud environments.

• Implement scalability strategies to accommodate growing workloads and user demand.

• Conduct periodic reviews and audits to ensure optimal resource utilization and efficiency.

5. Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:

• Document deployment procedures, configurations, and best practices.

• Share knowledge and expertise with team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

The Requirements

Must haves:

• Previous hands on experience in supporting Cloud Operations.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

• Technical Background in Infrastructure preferably in Cloud

Person Specification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent software development experience

• 4+ years of experience in Cloud DevOps or combined Cloud software development and system administration experience

• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, Azure services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and cloud-native architectures.

• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).

• Knowledge on containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).

• Familiarity with monitoring and logging solutions for cloud environments (e.g., Prometheus, ELK stack).

• Familiarity with various SDLC methodologies including Agile Scrum

• 2+ years of experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment methodologies and tooling preferred

• Ability to work under pressure to tight timelines and without direct supervision.

• Excellent analytical problem-solving skills

• Ability to interpret business conversations and translate into technical requirements.

Qualifications that would be advantageous for the position:

• Any Cloud Certification

• Familiarity with ITILv3 or ITIL v4

• Microsoft Azure Certification (AZ-900, AZ-103/104, AZ-400 certified or equivalent)
