UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies Security Specialist in Suffolk, Virginia

Overview

SECURITY SERVICE SPECIALIST (OSDJT):

Bowhead seeks a Security Services Specialist to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), Joint Test and Evaluation (JTE&E), Joint Program Office (JPO) supporting Joint/Joint Agency, Combatant Command, and Service joint tests and quick reaction tests.

Responsibilities

  • Provides for complete and timely action for all security violations/ incidents and resulting inquiries/ investigations. Oversees and tracks both the general security and network security education programs for all JPO- Suffolk/JTU-Suffolk personnel. Performs JPO-Suffolk/ JTU-Suffolk facility security alarm checks.

  • Coordinates with contractor Facility Security Officers (FSO) to ensure personnel collateral clearances are received for all contractor visit requests. Assists in processing visit requests for incoming personnel.

  • Maintains security records for all JT&E Program personnel.

  • Knowledge of DOD Manual 5200.01, DOD Information Security Program; DOD Manual 5105.21 Sensitive Compartmented Information Administrative Security Manual; and DOD 5220.22-M, National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).

  • Serves as principal contract support to the JT&E Program Security Officer on security matters.

  • Ensures personnel are appropriately cleared for work position held, and that timely action is taken when adverse information is gathered.

  • Ensures procedures are implemented for proper safeguarding of classified material received by, stored within, and transmitted from the JPO-Suffolk/JTU-Suffolk facility.

  • Provides for complete and timely action for all security violations/ incidents and resulting inquiries/ investigations.

Qualifications

  • Ten (10+) years’ of experience required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required

  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Power Point.

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated skills in prioritization and multi-tasking.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time

  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret clearance at this location.
