Spectrum Senior Manager, Data Science (On-Site) in Stamford, Connecticut

JOB SUMMARY The Senior Manager, Data Science will be responsible for executing the full scope of advanced analytic techniques with the objectives of creating causal inferences, predictions, and recommendations for improvements to promotional offer recommendations, customer retention, customer service, business processes, etc. and the metrics to monitor, enhance, and refine those improvements. This position requires a strong command of techniques and algorithms as well as a demonstrated practical ability to determine where to invest time, synthesize actionable findings across diverse assignments, and present these findings to an audience with varying levels of background in statistics and analytics.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Support execution of the complete analytics lifecycle, leveraging significant experience in this type of work in previous roles, including:

  • Data Preparation – Preparing/analyzing modeling data and assessing the quality and value of modeling data sources.

  • Predictions and Modeling – Develop, monitor, and maintain predictive and adaptive models.

  • Monitoring and Improvements – Support reporting on performance and analysis of predictions. Develop new models and replace existing ones in production.

    Leverage knowledge in analytical and statistical algorithms to assist stakeholders in improving their business

    Partner on the design and implementation of statistical data quality procedures for existing and new data sources

    Communicate complex data science solutions, concepts, and analyses to team members and business leaders

    Present data insights & recommendations to key stakeholders

    Responsible for interpretation of results, for both causal inferences and predictive effectiveness, as well as establishing links across existing data sources and finding new, interesting data correlations

    Ensure testing and validation are components of all analytics solutions

    Use varied data sources in relational databases, flat files, and external sources for analytic relevance

    Manage internal client relationships, including planning, roadmap, issue resolution, and overall accountability for results and client satisfaction

    Exercise thought leadership and discretion in tailoring the tools, approaches, and data used to meet the needs of a given problem

    Perform other duties as required

  • This role is based on-site at our corporate office in Stamford, CT. This role is not remote/hybrid

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSRequired Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeAbility to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishManagement experience in the field of analytics and/or data management.Comprehensive skills and experience with R (required) and/or Python (desired) (including relevant packages) in support of advanced analyticsAdvanced-level skills with relational databases, including SQL and utilizing data stored in complex schemasEffective logical and analytic skillsExperience and solid theoretical foundation on the modeling process using a variety of algorithmsData profiling, distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testingHoldout for testing, cross-validationData pre-processing, exploratory data analysis using a variety of techniquesRegression and classification using linear models, GLMs, and tree-based methodsInterpretation of model results, consideration of causality, treatment of multicollinearitySynthesis and presentation skillsBasic understanding of data architecture, data warehouse, and data martsExperience in the telecommunications industry, or two other consumer-based industriesAbility to continually expand skill set, and learn from and teach others

Required EducationBachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, operations research, or other quantitatively-focus field
