Jones Lang Lasalle HVAC/R Maintenance Technician in St. Paul, Minnesota

Position Summary: This HVAC/R technician position will be part of the IFM team responsible for delivering Facility Management services to an CommScope, Inc. location in Shakopee, MN. This facility is approximately 200,000 RSF and houses 200 client personnel in an office environment. Also, within the facility are technology development labs with environmental chambers and back of the house operational spaces. The MM will work alongside a team of JLL support personnel to deliver IFM services to the Client, reporting to the Assistant Facility Manager for this region. The HVAC/R technician provides following support:Maintain all Heating Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) equipment, Test Chambers, and other related Environmental Systems supporting the Shakopee, MN Facility.Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on Facility equipment. Analyze, troubleshoot, and repair equipment failures. Perform new equipment installations. Perform corrective maintenance and other types of work orders as assigned. Perform studies for Energy efficiency opportunities. Perform process and equipment improvements to improve its operation. Write reports to communicate and document equipment and process conditions. This role has wide ranging responsibilities including low/medium voltage power, HVAC system and controls, mechanical system troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, emergency response, general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing system, and vendor management. Primary responsibilities will include electrical/mechanical support for power systems, chillers and controls, lighting systems and controls, BMS and other facility subsystems and support tools. Other Essential Functions: Assist in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) Experience with work order systems Assists other operational staff members in repair and maintenance of building equipment Complies with policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials. Maintains all records, procedures, and other required documentation on site for the safe, economical operation of the facility Coordinates and supervises vendor contracted work Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Maintains records for work completed in a neat and organized manner Performs other duties as assigned. Ongoing communication with onsite leadership regarding status of facility maintenance activities Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Required to have Universal Refrigeration Certification, including R410A and EPA608 Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and use ladders up to 26' Electrical and mechanical aptitude a must Team player, hard worker, self-starter, good interpersonal skills, organized, and ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports. Speak fluent English Good general computer skills with knowledge in Microsoft office platform, E-mail and Internet Working Environment: Work assignment is in an office building, but will require work in and around technology labs, mechanical areas of the building (both inside and outside), in electrical rooms, and other maintenance locations Minimum Required Education: Universal Refrigerant Certification High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 3 years field experience with trade school training OR 5 years total field experience.
