JBS - Souderton Beef Plant Rendering Maintenance Lead in Souderton, Pennsylvania
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the shift supervisor in managing daily activities of mechanics on their designated shift
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
The Lead person :
- Supervises and Performs highly diversified duties with respect to production and facility equipment/systems.
- Supervises and installs replacement motors, pumps, drives, belts, filters, gears, chains, and valves on process equipment, facility equipment, and fork lifts.
- Troubleshoots pneumatic, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic machine problems and makes necessary repairs.
- Performs repairs to machines involving machine guarding, bolt replacement, and breakdowns due to mechanical wear.
- Welds machine components.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks on facility equipment.
- Handles installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment.
- In the event of an electrical emergencies, ,must be able to hook up and start generation system safely.
- Maintain the WWPT facility to operate within parameters safely.
- Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Performs highly diversified duties to install and maintain facility grounds, building and other facility equipment.
- Provides leadership for Maintenance technicians performing preventative maintenance, equipment installs, parts replacement, equipment troubleshooting, etc.
- Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to facility and production schedules.
- Manages service and repair of refrigeration systems and equipment such as condensing units, compressors, and evaporators.
- Manages outside contractors to perform repairs on failed machinery and equipment.
- Understands the tools and equipment needed to do each job.
- Understands and determines when and what type of maintenance is needed.
- Determines causes of operating errors and possesses ability to tell when something is likely to go wrong before downtime occurs.
- Inspects or tests damaged machine parts and marks defective areas or advises supervisor of needs for repair
- Resolves all maintenance and mechanical problems promptly with minimal disruption to production schedules.
- Leads equipment installations, including hooking up air, water, gas, and the alignment and leveling of equipment.
- Completes maintenance record keeping.
- Keeps record of all work performed.
- Updates maintenance history logs and completes required paperwork.
- Accounts for equipment used for maintenance and repairs.
- Understands and follows the company GMPs policy.
- Understands and follows the company safety rules.
- May be required to work long hours and weekends as needed
- May assume other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent certification
- At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience required
- Strong electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, industrial, PLC and H VAC experience
- AAS degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Good math skills
- Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
- Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others
- Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day
HEARING:
Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
REPETITIVE MOTION:
- Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or f ngers.
