This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, engineers, and designers, you will support systems engineering for various spaceflight systems. You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the development of the next lunar landers. As the VehicleSafety and Reliability Systems Engineeryou will be expected to lead and support various roles including Functional decomposition, and studies to ensure optimization of the design, requirements management and decomposition, integration, verification and validation. Your attention to detail will be used for managing requirements development, documenting interfaces between elements and disciplines and drive design maturation. You will work directly with NASA and our National Team Partners as part of the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing Blue Moon Lunar Lander (Link: ) that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Understanding and supporting requirements analysis and traceability of functional analysis, systems analysis, and safety analysis Technical performance monitoring, developing strategies and approaches for specialty engineering (operability, reliability, maintainability, supportability) and system product life cycle processes. Supporting the alignment and consistent implementation of SLD Vehicle system engineering practices for system to lower-level program tiers as well as across program systems. Helping develop health metrics to support insight into program health and tracking to major objectives. Participating in gated reviews. Understanding and documenting system behaviors with architecture. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field. Minimum of 5+ years of proven experience in system engineering. Experience with system engineering principles. Possess skills in strategic system thinking, excellent written and oral communication skills, proactive in moving program forward through team collaborations to achieve timely decisions, ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a collaborative, inclusive culture. Participates in systems engineering and system safety analysis activities with minimal oversite. Takes ownership of individual product development with minimal oversight. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
