This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, you will impact the development and maturation of Liquid Propulsion Rocket Engine (LPRE) control algorithms and simulation models. This role supports the development of the BE-7 engine for lunar transport. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Control system design and analysis throughout the development lifecycle Physical modeling required for controls design (Engine, valves, electric motor) Establish processes and standard methodologies for transient model development and analysis methods Technical and professional mentorship for junior team members Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of a B.S. degree in relevant engineering subject area (aerospace, mechanical, electrical, physics or software desired) 6+ years of experience in controls systems and analysis Demonstrated proficiency of linear control theory fundamentals as well as control system principles Familiarity with Electric Motor Controls Experience with simulation tools such as Simulink and MATLAB Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with liquid Rocket Engines or Aerospace applications Graduate level engineering degree in relevant engineering subject area Experience with advanced control strategies (e.g. robust control, model predictive control, optimal control, adaptive control) Compensation range for on site WA applicants is $141,480---$216,936 USD Inclusivity Statement Don't meet all desired requirements?
