Compensation Data

This position offers a base salary typically between $167,000 and $289,000.  The position may be eligible for a role specific variable or performance-based bonus and or other compensation elements.  For an overview of our benefits please click here. The Director, Patient Access Solutions leads the TA(s) assigned team and is accountable for the TA Patient support program strategy through the design, development, and implementation of the patient support program(s) for the assigned therapeutic area(s). This position will ensure the efficient design, and execution of access services (HUBs, CoPay and Financial support services) and other appropriate services. This role leads strategy development and oversight of the execution of access/service tactics and coordination with appropriate stakeholders to align to the brands’ strategies supported by Patient Access Solutions Support Services. This position will partner closely with brand teams, field teams, legal/compliance, vendors and Payer & Channel Access teams.

This role is based on-site at our Ridgefield, CT location with hybrid flexibility of 2-3 days per week on-site.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the TA(s) team and development of patient support program strategy, design, and oversight of the implementation across assigned therapeutic area (s).

  • Leads RFP creation and selection process.

  • Collaborates with brand marketing to understand and incorporate unique brand needs and attributes in support program offerings.

  • Leads the design of innovative service offerings for respective programs, through gathering patient insights within call center, external and competitive benchmarking, scanning global best practices and liaising across network of external vendors and internal resources.

  • Builds and presents TA strategy/plans/updates to senior management and key including corporate leadership.

  • Collaborates with Access Solutions Operations, Market Research, Analytics & Insights, Field Access and Reimbursement, Trade, Contracting, Finance, Brand Marketing to pull through insights into patient financial offerings, promotional material and tactical plans to meet assigned Brand objectives.

  • Ensures routine review of financial performance of programs to ensure programs meet the company's financial objectives.

  • Develops and recommends by product(s), the program budget requirements and oversee program expenses for patient services programs.

  • Works cross-functionally with A&I, Finance, Brand, Market Access teams to gain alignment on program, execution plan and metrics.

  • Responsible for the management of external partner performance and dedicated employees against contractual agreements, SOPs, KPIs to budget.

  • Works with appropriate functions that support customer facing teams such as Brand Marketing, Payor Marketing, Brand Marketing, Contracting & Pricing, Training and Development, Access and Reimbursement, Trade and Specialty and other Market Access Functions to ensure strong communication of all patient service programs.

  • Ensures "voice of the patient" and customer are incorporated into programs.

  • Responsible for educating and training internal and field-based stakeholders (design and delivery of the training) on financial case for using these programs and monitoring their need.

  • Leads TA team with highly motivated skilled qualified professionals.

  • Coaches and develops people and support learning opportunities.

  • Drives Performance management for all personnel.

  • Proactively identifies opportunities and develops/refines strategies/ projects for assigned brands.

  • Effectively presents opportunities for innovation and best in class new programs and marketing capabilities to brand teams and related departments.

  • Creates SOPs and business rules documents for assigned program in collaboration with Director, Operations.

  • Ensures SOPs are appropriately coordinated and aligned with SPPs and vendor to ensure a seamless interface.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree; advanced degree preferred with eight plus (8+) years relevant market access, patients services, reimbursement experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills.

  • Prior leadership experience preferred.

  • Several years’ experience working with or in Patient Support Program and Reimbursement.

  • Market Access, Specialty and/or marketing experience preferred.

  • Successful track record of managing external vendors.

  • In depth knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturer compliance requirements, HIPAA regulations.

  • Knowledge and experience in Medicare Part B and D. Medicaid and private payer policies, reimbursement process, health policy, specialty pharmacy experience.
