Unilever Maintenance Mechanic in Rexdale, Ontario
Background & Purpose of the Job
Works under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. Responsible for trouble-shooting, overall maintenance and repair of process and production equipment.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
1.Ensure all work is managed in such a way as to adhere to the HACCP and GMP policies/processes of a Food Manufacturing facility
2.Troubleshoot, repair, and adjust plant equipment and production support equipment as necessary.
3.Maintain close communication with other employees (Mechanics, Packaging Technicians, Operators, Electricians, Stationary Engineers, etc.).
4.Complete all required documentation including fully updating CMMS.
5.Ensure that all machines safety guards are in place and operational.
6.Ensure compliance to all plant safety rules.
7.Participate in all WCM training and apply this knowledge to the daily job duties and responsibilities.
8.Update all related KPI information and graphs as required.
9.Responsible for complying with existing company SHEQ Standards and requirements under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Regulations and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Environmental Protection Act, The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Technical Standards and Services Act.
10.Support quality and food safety programs including HACCP and FSCC-22000.
Other on-going activities include leading 5s activities and helping push forward the overall WCM agenda. Working on focused improvements and being an active member of a cell team responsible for the overall safety, quality, waste and efficiency of a set of lines.

What You’ll Need to Succeed
High School Diploma and Industrial Mechanic Millwright Certificate.
1.Strong sense of teamwork
2.Knowledge of WHIMS
5.Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents relating to the job, function or assignment
6.Ability to perform basic mathematical equations
