Eaton Corporation Project Controls Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

Eaton's EESS division is currently seeking a Project Controls Engineer. This is a hybrid position that can be based at our facility in Raleigh or Arden, NC or Greenwood or Sumter, SC.

The expected annual salary range for this is $77,249.97 - $113,299.96 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

This position reports into the EESS National Operations team and the primary function is to provide the Project Operations team with consistent and intimate support in managing their projects. The project engineer is responsible for project cost tracking, ongoing cost estimate validation, project schedule development/maintenance, creation of purchase requisitions, material and equipment tracking, subcontractor/vendor requests for pricing, submittal generation/oversight, document control, and warranty support. The project engineer is also responsible for the development/oversight Of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)/Cost Milestones for the business unit's revenue recognition projects, as well as supporting ongoing intercompany negotiation activities, specifically including, but not limited to, interfacing within the various company resources for pricing on Eaton equipment and services. Preferably, successful candidate demonstrates proficiency in systems software, such as Vista, Bid Manager, Oracle, QIikView, Microsoft Office and various other programs. Project Engineers are a resource for project managers, sales, contracts,finance, and our customers.

• Interface with other Eaton plants & services for solutions and price negotiation

• Interface with external vendors for quotation requests

• Review/create order summaries based off purchase order and proposal files to identify order entry requirements

• Responsible for equipment order accuracy, Value-Engineer equipment design and equipment schedule for the project

• Develop & compile project submittals and Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals

• Develop WBS/Cost Milestones forecast worksheets for revenue recognition projects Maintain project schedule, cost tracking, and cost estimate with the project management team

• Maintain project documentation control and lead lessons learned

• Lead Program level Backlog meetings and margin reviews

• Generate 3rd party equipment purchase order requisition

• Request authorized price levels for order entry in to Bid Manger

• Process requests for Bid Manager equipment configuration and order entry

• Provide technical assistance after order receipt & interface with Eaton plants and service organizations

• File intercompany warranty Requests and manage warranty for orders

• Manage an entire project as an assigned Project Managers (based on project size and complexity)

• Manage I support System Factory Acceptance Test

• Develop & maintain customer SOV (Schedule of Values) and assist in vendor SOV

• Manage Eaton plant]factory communication

• Create a bill of materials for a project proposal

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution AND minimum 3 years of experience in engineering, sales, project management or field service experience in electrical assemblies, electrical distribution and/or power protection technology.

• OR Associate's degree from an accredited institution AND minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, sales, project management or field service experience in electrical assemblies, electrical distribution and/or power protection technology.

• Company sponsorship is not offered. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.

• No relocation is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of the work locations will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates proficiency in systems software, such as Vista, Bid Manager, CQM, Oracle, QIikView, Microsoft

  • Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, PowerBl and various other programs.

  • Project Management experience/skills

  • Strong customer focus
