Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Department Director is responsible for specialized clerical work involving the application of basic accounting principles and a variety of financial records; and performs related work as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs the posting, checking and reconciliations of a variety of transaction, review all requisitions for completeness and accuracy, monitor purchases for procurement compliance, approve all purchase orders
  • Assists with the processing of payroll, such as timecard entry, payroll vouchers, oversight of electronic time keeping portal, reporting for Board of Supervisor agendas and other payroll duties as assigned.
  • Accurately upload Positive Pay to the bank for all warrants
  • Assist with the Credit Card administration/reconciliation
  • Assist and train credit card holders on policy and procedures for the purchasing cards
  • Process receipts of funds for various departments and deposit to the treasurer
  • Process warrants for payments to vendors and general reports to management for cash out flows
  • Assist with Procurement
  • Prepare required government reports and payment of Transaction Privilege Taxes
  • Collect data and perform quarterly reports for Workers Compensation Premium for all Volunteers
  • Performs year-end reporting for 1099 vendors and reports it to the IRS
  • May approve journal entries and report the cash entries to the Treasurer
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
  • Provide support to auditors
  • Maintain all vendor information
  • Audit account codes to assure compliance with policy and procedures
  • Knowledge of laws, ordinances and government regulations for County finance
  • Ability to apply accounting principles in the maintenance of control records and the preparation of financial statements
  • Ability toprepare accurate financial reports from accounting data knowledge of various office machines including, but not limited to, computers and calculators
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
