Robert Half Attorney in Oakland, California

Description

East Bay Area law firm, specializing in the representation of clients ranging from individuals, sole proprietorships, closely held businesses to multinational Fortune 500 corporations, is currently seeing an experienced Labor and Employment Attorney with a strong focus on Wage & Hour, Wrongful Termination, and significant experience in providing advice and counsel on transactional employment law matters. The ideal candidate will possess a substantial background in drafting law & motion and have a proven track record of successfully handling employment litigation cases. This is a long term contract/temporary opportunity, requiring candidates to report onsite in the Oakland office on a hybrid basis (2 days a week).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on various labor and employment matters, with a primary focus on transactional employment law, including the development of employee handbooks, policies, and procedures.

  • Manage a diverse caseload, with an emphasis on Wage & Hour and Wrongful Termination cases, involving drafting law & motion documents, pleadings, and other legal documents necessary for litigation.

  • Oversee all aspects of the litigation lifecycle, excluding representation in court proceedings. This includes case strategy, discovery, depositions, negotiations, and settlements.

  • Stay current with updates to labor and employment laws, regulations, and industry trends in California.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active and in-good-standing membership with the California State Bar.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience practicing labor and employment law.

  • Significant experience in employment litigation, preferably on the defense side.

  • Strong background in transactional employment law, including handbook development.

  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.

  • Proven ability to effectively manage a high-volume caseload.

  • Successful track record in litigation, including trials and settlements

  • Ability to report onsite in Oakland, CA
