Robert Half Housing Coordinator in New York, New York

Description

We are offering an opportunity for an Administrative Coordinator in the non-profit sector located in New York, New York. The role primarily involves supporting the housing search efforts of families living in shelters by coordinating various housing services. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Provide guidance and support to families during the housing subsidy application process.

• Build and maintain relationships with real estate rental brokers and landlords to ensure access to current housing information and resources.

• Liaise with brokers and landlords to ensure potential housing meets client readiness requirements.

• Organize housing fairs and participate in networking events.

• Facilitate housing workshops to address client issues and needs; provide resources to families during different phases of their housing search.

• Coordinate group meetings with new families to discuss existing subsidies and the responsibilities of the client regarding the search for permanent housing.

• Arrange apartment viewings and interviews with landlords, provide escort to apartment viewings as required, and assist with housing applications.

• Track all referrals, provide ongoing follow-up to clients, and feedback to sources and leads.

• Collaborate with Case Managers and clients in developing permanent housing strategies.

• Maintain updated case notes and ensure copies of applications are maintained in the case file.

• Prepare all mandated reporting as required.

Requirements

• Possess proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Word

• Demonstrated experience with a Management System

• Ability to handle Correspondence effectively and professionally

• Proven track record in Customer Service roles

• Possess strong Data Entry skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and within a team.
