Goodwill Industries of SELA Grounds Maintenance Lead Worker in New Orleans, Louisiana

Essential Functions:  

Responsibilities:

  • I. To represent Goodwill Industries at the work site.

  • To ensure that all work is performed to contract specifications or as assigned by the Site Supervisor.

  • To ensure that daily equipment maintenance is performed on a daily basis on all equipment.

  • Ensure that supplies are appropriately utilized and not wasted.

  • To be knowledgeable of the contract and any additional statement of work.

  • To ensure that employees are on the appropriate work assignments and are performing their assigned tasks.

  • To orient and train grounds maintenance workers.

  • To notify the site supervisor immediately of any incident including personnel injury, or damage to any personal, private, or Navy property.

  • To motivate grounds maintenance employees to reach production guidelines. I0. To act as a positive role model for employees.

  • To notify Site Supervisor of all potential problems and other issues that may arise at the worksite.

  • To ensure compliance by subordinates of personnel policies and safety procedures.

  • To possess and maintain a valid Louisiana driver's license and Navy Air Field Driver's License, and to be insurable by the Company's automotive insurance carrier.

    Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to interact cordially and productively with all Goodwill/Goodworks  personnel and Navy personnel.

  • Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including weekends, and occasionally, long or extended hours.

  • Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Must be able to engage in prolonged standing, walking and in frequent bending, stooping, and stretching

  • Must be able to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress

    Requirements:

    Two years' experience in the grounds maintenance field with six months of supervisory experience required. Must wear company issued uniforms

    Working Conditions:

    Frequent physical exertion, exposure to inclement weather and equipment fumes.
