Leggett & Platt, Incorporated has an opening for aProduction Supervisorfor our 2nd shift (Monday through Friday, 3:00 P.M. to 11:00 P.M.) in the flooring products division in Morris, IL.

The Production Supervisors responsibilities include:

• Enforce safety regulations.
• Keep notes of employees attendance and hours worked.
• Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Read and analyze work orders, production schedules, and other records and reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
• Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals.
• Confer with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within or between departments.
• Interpret specifications, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers.
• Observe work and monitor gauges, dials, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production or processing standards.
• Direct and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in production, such as inspectors, machine operators, or forklift drivers.
• Conduct training in equipment operations or work and safety procedures or assign training to experienced workers.
• Evaluate employee performance.
• Confer with management or subordinates to resolve union worker problems, complaints, or grievances.
• Recommend or implement measures to motivate employees and to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, or efficiency.
• Requisition safety supplies.
• Adjust machines and equipment at start-up.
• Recommend personnel actions, such as hiring, evaluations, or promotions.

In addition, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Two to three years of experience successfully leading people in a supervisory or a lead position.
• High school or GED.
• Good general math, communication, and writing skills.
