Minimum Qualifications:

  • Class 5 driver's license

  • Experience around heavy equipment/crew supervising

  • Ability to travel for a minimum of a week at a time in Atlantic Canada and weekends, as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of grades: cross slope, super elevations, offset grades, swales etc.)

  • Highway construction signage and safety awareness an asset

  • Mechanical/welding experience is an asset

  • Knowledge with computers/electric over hydraulic

Day in the Life

As a Milling Foreperson, your main responsibility will be to look after and supervise the milling crew, maintaining and monitoring desired depth and slope. You will also operate and run ground controls on the milling machine and assist with executing float moves to and from worksites.

You’ll also be responsible for performing all fluid level checks and conducting routine maintenance on the equipment, cleaning, servicing, and performing minor repairs to ensure optimal performance. Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment, completing maintenance records, and daily equipment logs will also all be crucial to the job.

When you’re not operating and maintaining the equipment or supervising the crew, you will ensure accurate & timely completion of required safety paperwork and work report submissions.
