The Cigna Group Pharmacy Operations Analyst - Express Scripts Canada in Mississauga, Ontario

Pharmacy Operations is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of the Express Scripts Canada pharmacies. This department is responsible for establishing and maintaining corporate standards of quality, productivity and performance in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements. Further, this department is responsible for overseeing the production levels and service standards associated with pharmacy operations.

The Pharmacy Operations Analyst is responsible for performing a range of operational functions, analysis and reporting within the pharmacy environment to support high quality pharmacy services. This is a working Analyst position who creates reports, inventory orders, email lists, and implements them daily/weekly as directed, and provides operational and troubleshooting support at an aggregate business level and at an individual order level.

Prior experience working in a pharmacy as well as capability learning multiple computer systems, performing analytics and troubleshooting operations/processes using systems and data is preferred.

Essential Functions:

  • Support inventory management through stock variance reporting and related analysis as well as preparing and submitting stock orders to suppliers

  • Troubleshoot problem orders (i.e., delayed/stuck in process) and resolve issues so they can be fulfilled/shipped on a daily basis

  • Correct and maintain patient data, prescription schedules, and other system data

  • Action manual processes as assigned such as maintaining patient lists and sending regular communications to target customers

  • Monitor daily pharmacy performance and ensure order workbench throughput is maintained

  • Review and identify patient billing issues for resolution

  • Complete purchase order receiving process for non-drug products and services

  • Conduct analysis and provide recommendations on Pharmacy and Member Contact Centre operations and performance

  • Monitor pharmacy processes and conduct analyses to help teams identify root causes of quality and productivity issues and potential solutions for process improvement

  • Special duties and projects as assigned by the Manager

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a retail pharmacy (preferred) and/or other order fulfillment business

  • Attention to detail, accuracy and deadline oriented.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs especially Excel

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability

  • Experience in inventory management and working in an ERP system an asset

  • Ability to thrive in a challenging, demanding, and rapidly changing environment

  • Initiative and self-motivation with minimum supervision

  • Team player to achieve common departmental and organizational objective

  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong ability to prioritize

  • Flexibility to adapt & accept various tasks to ensure the overall team objectives are met
