Description We are offering a role for a Software Engineer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This position will be part of a hybrid work environment with the potential for remote work. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in the research and development of advanced medical monitors. As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will be involved in developing, implementing, and maintaining software for medical products.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in designing and implementing software for an existing device, working cross-functionally to understand needs and requirements.

• Contribute to the creation of schedules and tasking to facilitate the execution of development completion and delivery of software.

• Apply strong software engineering expertise to design and implement robust software architectures while influencing the processes and methodologies used by the team to create quality software.

• Develop software that will be deployed in medical products using modern development practices such as design patterns, strong object-oriented principles, unit testing, automated testing, and software evaluation tools.

• Participate in the formal documentation processes for requirements generation, software architecture, and detailed designs.

• Troubleshoot kernel, user interface, communication thread interactions, and other general issues in an embedded multithreaded environment.

• Apply cybersecurity knowledge and understanding of secure coding methods and practices.

• Collaborate with other software developers, demonstrating strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

• Maintain a positive and collaborative environment within the team. Requirements

• Experience in medical device highly preferred

• Proficient in C++ and other relevant coding languages

• Demonstrable experience in software engineering and development

• Excellent communication and documentation skills

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and practices

• Ability to research and implement new engineering technologies

• Proven experience in designing user interface (UI) and implementing software solutions

• Knowledge of automation testing methods and software

• Familiarity with operating system fundamentals

• Experience in troubleshooting and problem-solving in a software development context

• Familiarity with cyber security principles and practices

• Knowledge in handling peripheral equipment

• Understanding of healthcare-related software such as HealthCare.gov is a plus

• Strong ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively

• Knowledge of software development methodologies

• Experience in quality assurance and maintaining high software standards

• Understanding of medical coverage and related software applications.

• Ability to adapt to new software engineering practices and methods.
