BWXT is currently seeking a Project Engineer for its location in Lynchburg, VA!

BWX Technologies, Inc. The Project Engineer role is responsible for project support encompassing equipment procurements and scheduling logistics and will support the Project Manager in the management, planning, scheduling and control of project work.

Job Description / Duties:

  • Lead equipment delivery tracking / vendor install and start-up support scheduling, including:

  • Procurement of tooling and consumables.

  • Procurement of operations support equipment.

  • Coordinating equipment vendor site visits for both SAT / commissioning activities, as well as maintenance / troubleshooting activities.

  • Collaborate with production engineering to understand process flow and operational assumptions for equipment, as well as provide feedback on equipment designs / functionality.

  • Support weekly and bi-monthly update meetings with project team members and program management.

  • Support RFQ and SOW revision estimating, and provide inputs and reviews.

  • Maintain knowledge of technical requirements applicable to the assigned scope of work.

  • Provide technical and organizational support for projects including documentation, specification review, coordination of design and procurement activities, and procedure preparations.

  • Interface with Finance and Engineering to support project activities.

  • Work with potential vendors and perform technical oversight of vendor activities.

  • Ensure client satisfaction by working closely with the client's technical, administrative, and management team.

  • Coordinate engineering disciplines and vendor interfaces.

  • Participate actively in process improvement initiatives.

    Job Qualifications / Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to effectively work with others is required.

  • Previous experience in the nuclear or radiological field is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Scheduling Software (e.g. MS Office, Primavera, MS Project) is preferred.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.

The base salary range for this position in [[stateProvince]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $[[custsalaryMin]] and $[[custsalaryMax]] per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
