Position Description:

Manages a unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures for the unit. Represent the unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions:

  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements for relocation services.

  • Develops and monitors budgets and tracks/reports expenses.

  • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope to ensure that all relocation projects are completed on time and within budget constraints.

  • Coordinate with external vendors, internal support teams, and other service providers as needed. Also coordinates with appropriate teams to ensure that facility inventory changes are updated.

  • Tracks and communicates active construction/renovation project status, and planned construction project timelines.

  • Provide emergency response solutions in time sensitive space hurdles.

  • Responsible for supporting high level projects on a business need to know basis, manage sensitive information, coordinate with project teams and customers.

  • Oversee and manage Property Surplus staff and assets; develops policies and process to best support the lifecycle of TTU property, general oversight of online auction transactions, and ensures high level of customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong customer service abilities. Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the department to the university and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or email. An understanding of creativity and alternative thinking to develop new ideas and answers to work-related problems.

  • Experience with construction drawings, site verification, and construction documents. Project management experience and process development. Familiarity with construction processes.

  • Required knowledge and the ability to use computers, web applications, and fluency in Microsoft Office programs.
