Robert Half Staff Accountant in Little Rock, Arkansas

Description

An esteemed company in North Little Rock is on the lookout for a diligent Staff Accountant to join their team. As a key member of their finance department, you'll report directly to the Accounting Manager, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting for our organization and its subsidiaries.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain precise subsidiary ledgers for various accounts, including property, inventory, and accounts receivable.

  • Supervise the entire accounts receivable process, ensuring prompt recording, distribution, and reconciliation of all customer billings and payments in adherence to signed Solar Power Services Agreements.

  • Assist in the development and compilation of various reports required by external entities, such as personal property tax assessments and debt covenant compliance reports.

  • Manage the accounts payable process by accurately recording invoices and credits, reconciling payments to vendor statements, and maintaining updated vendor records.

  • Act as a reliable backup for the Accounting Manager, including the issuance of checks when required.

  • Participate actively in the monthly and annual general ledger closing process, preparing accruals, amortization entries, allocation entries, and bank reconciliations.

  • Coordinate the collection, processing, and reimbursement of employee expense reports and company credit card transactions.

  • Aid in recording and analyzing monthly transactions, including the preparation of standard and non-recurring journal entries.

  • Provide support in implementing, maintaining, and adhering to internal controls and accounting procedures in accordance with GAAP standards.

  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions efficiently.

  • Participate in both external and internal audit procedures.

  • Collaborate with the team on developing process improvements to optimize departmental efficiency.

  • Deliver financial information and special reports to management, conducting thorough research and analysis as needed.

  • Occasionally engage in utility rate-making activities.

  • Maintain regular communication with customers, vendors, and other departments to address financial inquiries and concerns effectively.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; Master's degree preferred.

  • CPA certification is advantageous but not required.

  • Experience with tax credits and utility rate-making is beneficial.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong stress management skills and effective collaboration abilities within a team environment.

  • Familiarity with Oracle NetSuite is preferred, although not mandatory.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, is essential.

  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
