Actalent Controls Engineer in Lansing, Michigan

Description:

Looking to add a controls engineer to their team on 2nd shift. The hours for 2nd shift are fairly flexible, but generally speaking will be from 11:00am until 8:00pm. This person will be working 45 hours a week with a 30 minute lunch break. Majority of the job will be focused on editing and troubleshooting their equipment. The facility is focused on assembling automotive interiors (384 seats a minute) with their biggest client being GM. The majority of this person's day will be spent on the floor and helping maintenance address software issues. They will also be responsible for documenting PLC changes from suppliers and keeping all of those changes organized. When there is "down time" they will be assigned projects to improve the facilities' automation.

This person will be expected to be able to work one or two weekends a month for "production days" which are all hands on deck. While training (first 30-90 days based on how fast they pick things up) they will train on 1st shift with another controls engineer.

Skills:

  • 3 plus years of experience working as a controls engineer

  • Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting and editing experience

  • Experience working with vision systems

  • Robotics experience
