They bring the knowledge and a good understanding of the Carrier Landscape incorporating the Carrier product required for Carrier Supplier Management , Commercial and technical solution(s) in support of NTT clients. They have a strong understanding of the organisation thereby ensuring that their crafted solution(s) meet client requirements.

This role is responsible for effectively designing, promoting and positioning NTT’s product and / or services in the market. They are required to identify new commercially viable Carrier products or services, as well as any opportunities for the enhancement of existing products or services.

The Senior Carrier Portfolio Manager should provide insights and impact assessments to the organisation to ensure the Carrier framework governance and compliance.

Key Role and Responsibilities:

  • Engage with Carrier Partners and Suppliers

  • Engage with Engineers, Consultants, Technical Architects and Solution Architects to ensure that the crafted solution meets client requirements

  • Achieve set and agreed product sales to meet specified financial goals

  • Formulate commercial models and take ownership of the portfolio’s financial performance (profit and loss)

  • Develop and deliver Carrier product training to client facing staff

  • Influences and guides the Sales team to ensure that they are equipped to close deals that involve their products and services

  • Engage with and offer support to internal and external stakeholders to ensure the project’s success

  • Analyse product data to establish trends and insights using internal and external sources

  • Facilitate the conversion of knowledge and ideas into new or improved products, processes and services

  • Research and interpret the Carrier competitor offerings and market trends against NTT client base with a strong data analysis focus

  • Review of Carrier product profitability

  • Determines the appropriateness of pricing of existing and new investments strategies in line with projected value, competitor offerings and market trends

  • Product design and modelling/testing new and existing solutions

  • Draft and maintain product specifications documents

  • Evaluate market trends associated with the particular product of product line.

  • Work closely with partner relationship managers

  • Work closely with Engineers, Consultants and Project Managers during the initiation stage of a project to ensure its success

  • Provide product knowledge input assistance for compiling client proposals.

  • Write RFI/RFP responses and bids and obtain vendor product certification for the product portfolio

  • Recommend product enhancements and updates to identify new business opportunities

  • Involvement in product development life cycle in order to understand how new products or new product features will impact both the end user and the client facing areas that directly support end users

Knowledge, skills and attributes:

  • Good understanding of the local and global carrier landscape

  • Sound analytical skills and proficient with analysis of large data sets

  • Strong commercial acumen as it relates to pricing strategies, cost analysis and overall financial management/performance of the portfolio

  • Investigative nature to unpack complicated Carrier problems

  • Proactive and able to use initiative

  • Evidence of being able to work collaboratively

  • Highly proficient in MS Excel

  • Comprehensive knowledge of product management and service development life cycles

  • Expert knowledge on relevant legislative amendments industry best practices and provision of proactive advice and solutions to relevant stakeholders

  • Knowledge of sales strategies and concepts

  • Ability to engage with a C level executive audience and partake in events that require public speaking to larger forums

Academic Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology or Commerce etc.

Experience required:

  • Demonstrable experience in a similar position

  • Relevant experience (at least 5 years) in an ISP or carrier-based environment

  • Demonstrable track record of involvement in design and implementing new products or product lines

  • Information Technology sales experience
