We’re hiring a Vice President, Development (VP) in Dallas, TX.

The VP Development is responsible for leading, managing, inspiring, and implementing the Dallas fundraising campaigns through strategic direction and management of a team of fundraising leaders and support staff. The campaigns include Heart Challenge, Cotes du Coeur, Collin County Heart Fest, and the Go Red For Women Luncheon.

We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers. This position offers a hybrid schedule. The office is in Irving, TX.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Work alongside Sr. Vice President Dallas (SVP) on stewarding key donor relationships and strategizing on how to deepen impact.

  • Work alongside SVP on mid- to large company prospecting, sales process, and onboarding. This will include assisting with top 30 prospect list management and first-class service when bringing on a new corporate partner.

  • Have the principal responsibility of securely positioning the market for aggressive growth in unrestricted revenue on an increasing and sustainable basis through building a dynamic development staff and volunteer leadership talent and capabilities.

  • Have a “Drive for Results” mentality that not only pushes themselves but others as well.

  • Lead three direct reports (Associate VP of Heart Challenge, Associate VP of Go Red for Women, and Associate VP of Cotes du Coeur/Collin County.

  • Lead from a position of collaboration across campaigns, with the best interest of the donor as the top priority.

  • Will aggressively work with three direct reports and development staff on new company growth and development, both in revenue and leadership engagement/recruitment.

  • Provide direct reports leadership direction on setting transformational goals and hold team accountable to their goals and activities to achieve them.

  • Partner and continually build a network of meaningful volunteer partnerships to advance the mission of the Association. Through campaign voluntary leadership, will help provide timely direction, framework, and resources for volunteers to realize campaign goal success.

  • Work with SVP and direct reports to maintain a minimum of three years of “transformational” Chairs for each campaign and its events, therefore growing the divisions revenue and volunteer engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience in fundraising or outside sales experience, preferably with a voluntary health agency. Experience in closing six to seven figure gifts is required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience. Expertise in the coaching and developing fundraising staff is required.

  • Demonstrated track record of setting, achieving, and exceeding aggressive goals on a sustainable basis.

  • Demonstrated track record of influencing others to action through communicating a shared vision.

  • Ability to establish and implement strategic plans in a highly dynamic, fast paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate vision to a team.

  • Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and writing clear, concise reports and evaluation.

  • Must quickly be able to learn existing donor relationships and partner with direct reports and development staff to deepen and grow in financial and volunteer impact.

  • Ability to travel locally approximately 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times on an immediate basis.
