Unilever Material Planner in Independence, Missouri

Background & Purpose of the Job

Perform expediting and de-expediting of raw and packaging materials to support the plant production schedule and customer service while optimizing inventory levels.

  • Evaluate material requirements based on system generated MRP and requisition materials accordingly.

  • Expedite and de-expedite raw and package materials to support and maintain a flexible production schedule while communicating with Business Units and support departments to achieve customer satisfaction.

  • Monitor raw and package inventory to achieve continuous improvement in inventory optimization. Maintain and utilize inventory models.

  • Interface with Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning, and Vendors.

  • Maintain Bills of Material, material master data, factory invoices and internal KPI’s

  • Apply WCM principals to identify major loss areas, facilitate process improvement.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • Understand Material Planning principals (MRP, Inventory Models).

  • Utilize computer software to communicate, analyze, and document planning activities and develop KPI Reports utilizing Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills used in preparing presentations and interaction with both internal and external customers. Accurately interpret written and oral instructions and follow systematic instructions.

  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills. Interact effectively with all levels including other Unilever sites, Supply Chain Planning, manufacturing personnel. Motivate, energize, and foster team activities and relationships. Ability to resolve conflict.

  • Thorough knowledge of a specialized field involving a thorough skill knowledge plus the application of basic theory. Bachelor’s Degree required; Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Planning, or related fields.

  • Preferred one to three years’ experience in manufacturing or in a materials management role.

  • Diversified duties involving an intensive knowledge of a specialty field, and the use of a wide range of procedures. Requires the use of judgment in the analysis of facts and circumstances surrounding individual problems and transactions and in the determination of actions to be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practice.
