POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION PURPOSE-Remote

** Proficiency in excel.

Provides analytical support for the MOs and various operational areas of revenue management for the Unified Revenue Organization (URO) in Trinity Health. Assists in the preparation of standard and ad-hoc reports/summaries; utilizes and maintains databases; conducts data integrity and quality checks/audits of financial systems; extracts data and conducts statistical analysis. Participates on revenue cycle projects and teams assisting with varied assignments including, but not limited to, optimization, operations, process improvement/change management, strategy and general revenue management projects. Develops and maintains a knowledge base of revenue management operations/strategies through appropriate educational and organizational activities. Work activities require researching, benchmarking, analysis, problem solving and utilizing appropriate software applications. The position is designed to provide direct day-to-day or project support to the various operational leaders, managers and consultants of the URO.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provides analytical revenue management support for the MOs and various operational areas of the URO. Analyzes data, prepares calculations and appropriate worksheets/statements

Prepares standard and ad-hoc reports, flow charts, graphs, summaries and presentations. Accesses internal databases and financial systems to extract data for analysis, report generation and decision making purposes. Assists in identifying operational and financial metrics and provides appropriate interpretation and application of data.

Utilizes and maintains internal databases. Participates in systems administration and conducts data integrity and quality checks/audits. Assists and participates in the development and maintenance of URO standard data definitions and reporting methodologies.

Participates on various operational multi-functional project teams for the URO. Conducts external research and data gathering; complex business analyses; process mapping and workflow analysis, and creates dashboards benchmarking against key performance indicators. Interfaces with and develops effective relationships with MO teams in order to support the implementation of process changes or project deliverables.

May manage and lead small-scale projects of a limited duration. Work with team members by applying URO project management methods and leveraging project management acumen in order to achieve identified milestones and outcomes.

Develops, manipulates and utilizes large data sets; conducts system/data integrity and quality checks/audits; accesses applications and utilizes relational database management or systems administration methods and practices.

Assists Ministry Organizations with the implementation and effective utilization of the Project Genesis Revenue Management Systems and Trinity Health best practices to achieve strategic and operational revenue management goals.

Keeps apprised of and maintains working knowledge of appropriate software applications and healthcare finance policies, procedures and processes in support of day-to-day or project responsibilities.

Develops and implements standards, templates and procedures that guide and support the provision of services within the URO.

Other duties as assigned.

Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Trinity Health’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, Health Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two (2) to five (5) of years of relevant revenue management work experience. Generally, has proficient understanding of principles in one revenue management function.

Proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access and Visio) and financial systems/software. Ability to utilize PC-based financial tools (i.e., spreadsheets, databases, graphics, etc.). Some knowledge of relational database management and business intelligence reporting tools preferred.

Must be highly motivated to succeed and achieve objectives.

Some knowledge and experience supporting and developing reporting and analytics for research, process improvement support and specific revenue management function. Ability to develop appropriate methods to collect, analyze and report data.

Some knowledge of organization policies, procedures and processes preferred.

Some knowledge and experience managing or leading small projects or portions of projects preferred.

Some knowledge of process improvement/change management techniques and methodology preferred.

Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to work in a team environment providing support to multiple positions. Ability to resolve problems and complete assignments accurately and promptly.

Ability to operate in an ambiguous and matrix organizational structure. Ability to operate in a highly autonomous self-directed manner under frequently changing structures, requirements and priorities.

Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Must be able to set and organize own work priorities, and adapt to them as they change frequently. Must be able to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.

Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites as needed.

Must possess the ability to comply with Trinity Health policies and procedures.
