Farmingdale State College Aircraft Maintenance Technician in Farmingdale, New York

Under general supervision the Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT) candidate will maintain Farmingdale State College's aircrafts under current FAA regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain aircraft and shop support equipment.

  • Conduct or supervise the inspection of aircrafts.

  • Provide quality control of parts used on aircrafts.

  • Provide training and instruction in the use of equipment to junior technicians.

  • Provide assistance to students and instructors.

  • Responsible for all supporting documentation IAW Federal Regulations.

  • During all-weather operations an AMT will provide line service.

    Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possess a current FAA Mechanics License with an Airframe and Powerplant Rating with a clean record and no enforcement actions pending.

  • Minimum four years general aviation experience which can include tech school.

  • Possess strong computer skills.

  • Knowledge of aircraft parts and familiarity with shipping and receiving.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Flight simulator repair experience.

  • Familiar with the Talon RMS program.

  • Piper warrior, Archer and Seminole experience.

  • Cessna experience.

    Additional Information:

This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Tuesday, April 30, 2024, and ending Monday, May 13, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Wednesday, May 29, 2024

  • SALARY: $65,000 + $3,087 in downstate location pay = $68,087 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
