Robert Half Accounting Assistant in Fall River, Massachusetts

Description We are in search of an efficient and meticulous Accounting Assistant to join our team based in Fall River, Massachusetts. This role involves maintaining accounting and financial information, processing monthly contract billings, preparing daily deposits, and handling accounting petty cash box reimbursements and requests. The successful candidate will also assist with external audit preparation, review and process section 125 and dependent care information, and respond to reasonable expectations of the agency.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accounting and financial information for weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly transactions.

• Process monthly contract billing and prepare related analysis reports on expenditures and revenues.

• Prepare daily deposits and record them on a spreadsheet.

• Handle accounting petty cash box reimbursements and requests.

• Maintain and execute EAP contract on a monthly basis.

• Enter and calculate agency postage expense.

• Prepare childcare bill in CCFA.

• Assist with external audit preparation and respond to requests as needed.

• Review and process section 125 and dependent care information.

• Respond to reasonable expectations of the Agency and/or supervisor.

• Utilize skills in accounting functions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing functions, cash activity, and fund accounting for non-profit. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Functions

• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)

• Familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Ability to handle Billing Functions efficiently

• Experience with Cash Activity management

• Knowledge of Fund Accounting in a Non-Profit context

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

• Proficient in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Relevant work experience in a similar role preferred
