Background & Purpose of the Job

Therefore, we have created a separate business unit called Global Retail Operations in charge of opening and operating branded retail stores globally. These stores are either in a pop-up store format, such as the Magnum Pleasure Stores, St. Ives, Pure Leaf, Axe or in a permanent format, such as the stores for T2, Maille, Ben & Jerry’s or Grom.

Global Retail Operations is focusing on a Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) retail approach and supports brands in building a full eco-system. Operating a total of over 1,300 physical stores globally across more than 20 brands, a number which continues to grow, Global Retail Operations create premium retail environments that offer compelling and unique experiences. You could be part of a highly entrepreneurial team that aims to bring alive an excellent brand experience for our customers in the Unilever Retail stores.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

Your role is to build the Global Retail Platform in the USA for our permanent and pop up stores and building world class retail standards to build consumer experiences.

·Deliver world class experience and strong retail operations in our psychical stores in the USA by setting up the right organization, talent and skills in store to deliver

·Ability to deliver and improve sales performance in our retail stores

·Build the retail fundamentals from scratch (in some areas), the team to build the organization for the future

·Exceptional project and program management skills.

·Outstanding written and interpersonal communication including the presentation of complex programs to various customer and stakeholder groups at all levels.

·Strong financial acumen and demonstrated ability to manage profitability.

·Strong leadership skills including the ability to engage and motivate teams (in store and headquarters) representing multiple viewpoints to achieve business objectives.

·Ability to apply breakthrough thinking, creativity and innovation to solve complex problems.

·Strong change management skill; ability to formulate change management strategies and lead others to rapidly adapt to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

·Masters of Business Administration highly desired

·Minimum 8-10 years of relevant retail operations experience. Ideally, multi – site retail management experience with key experience in the USA context

·Leading P&L of ground store

·Broad exposure and understanding to all functions within the business

·Background from Food & Beverage is preferred

·Experience in start- up ambiguous environments

·Ability to interact and influence external and internal stakeholders

·Ability to spot opportunities to drive sales and positive business results

·Experience with working cross-functionally and cross- culturally

·Experience leading projects in complex and international environments

·Able to demonstrate a proactive, positive and result-orientated approach with a focus on innovation to constantly improve the training & operation program for the business

·Strong Communication skills

·Ability to prioritize and manage tasks simultaneously

·Strong team player, able to work in remote teams - proactive and able to anticipate demands / upcoming tasks
