Unilever Marketing Innovation and Activation Manager in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

Background & Purpose of the Job Unilever is a marketing led organization, with a track record of developing and delivering best-in-class marketing and communications. Unilever intends to lead the FMCG industry in the transformation of its promotion activation and innovation by optimizing current solutions and partners while innovating and curating new solutions. Unilever will lead this transformation to provide deeper and richer connections with consumers for our brands while leading and collaborating with our retailers.The Marketing and Innovation manager will be both be a leader and practitioner. Vision, Analytics, Leadership, and Strategic application are key to this role:

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

  • Visionary: Build on the current landscape of third party offerings, and immerging technologies to deliver one to one consumer engagements for our brands in the areas of couponing/sampling and more. Be Curious.

  • Collaboration : Develop strong relationships with both established marketing suppliers, and emerging as well as Unilever Brand, Media, and Insights Teams to deliver against brand/portfolio objectives.

  • Team Development/management

  • Program Development : Develop and execute world-class integrated Shopper Marketing Plans at Target for Unilever brands. These events should deliver on the brand Jobs-to-be-Done, drive category growth, promote cross-category conversion & be profitable for both Unilever & Target.

  • Project Management : Maintain timely flow of reports, program evaluations, proposals and project estimates. Provide point-of-view on appropriate spending against retailer initiated marketing initiatives. Evaluate key Shopper Marketing programs 90 days post program completion. These findings/recommendations should be a comprehensive view of the program performance, ROI, sales results and include relevant market information.

  • Agency Management : Manage agency partners ensuring that they are delivering on requirements outlined in briefs and effectively delivering on all account management responsibilities (i.e. program & financial management).

  • Digital Focus : Work closely with the Digital teams to develop a customized strategy with customers around this space. This includes but is not limited to a scale strategy, tactical activation and sharing timely results of program implementation.

  • Metrics and Analytics : Drive SM analytical work within the team for Digital and core execution You’re a born leader: you lead your team, and the conversation with external and cross-functional partners You’re a strategy guru: you navigate the various brand, category, functional, and customer strategies to optimize impact You’re a dot connector: you are the interface between brand, sales, and customer teams You love to win, and have fun doing it: you find the win-win situations for Unilever brands and Target

  • What You’ll Need To Succeed

Knowledge Education

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, MBA a plus.

Experience

  • 5-7 year’s experience in development of brand business objectives in FMCG and working with different promotional suppliers.

  • Digital marketing, emerging technologies and deep understanding of end to end solutions

  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking

  • Management experience leading teams or agency partners.

Skills Specific Training

  • Knowledge of consumer packaged goods industry, retail channels and account specific marketing.

  • Understanding of promotional tactics, process flow, execution and fulfillment processes.

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Working knowledge of syndicated data (i.e. Nielsen, Spectra) and analytics

  • Shopper insight led mindset

  • Experience in digital marketing and understanding of consumer behavior in this space

  • Agency Management experience a plus

  • Ability to manage large promotional spend across multiple brands and categories
