Unilever Engagement Manager - Nexxus in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

Background & Purpose of the Job

Unilever is on a journey to become more and more digital every day. This is a unique opportunity to work on Nexxus, our premium salon brand in the Hair Care portfolio, as the Digital Brand Engagement Manager. You will assume direct leadership and ownership of digital & social strategy, planning, creative content, community management, and always-on activity. You will partner with Brand Managers and cross functional teams to connect the dots across all things digital with a primary focus on always-on content/programs across all consumer, brand and eCommerce channels. Your role is to ensure that digital plans are aligned seamlessly to the overall business and marketing objectives. You will coordinate brand & category data capture to drive actionable insights. You will use the latest L2 learnings to ensure Nexxus is best in class in the digital space. You will create brilliant content that connects with the consumer and drives conversion on eCommerce platforms. You will be a brand subject matter expert, knowing the right questions to ask at the right time, driving thought leadership & advocacy to brand teams so that they can reach consumers in compelling, creative ways while maximizing return on digital investments.

You have a deep knowledge of some or all of a digital eco-system (paid, owned, earned, search, ecommerce, PRM). You’re a naturally curious and stays ahead of new platforms, assets, types of content, technologies, new business model. You’re a fast learner who can learn about what our consumers care about; and who can adapt with speed to the ever changing marketplace. You’re an influencer who can partner with the entire team to connect the dots across all things digital. You will effectively work with the different teams to elevate digital across our marketing plans and business.

What You’ll Do ·

  • Drive consumer digital understanding – consumer behavior, platforms, media, and data to drive personalized content. ·

  • Support initiatives on data-driven marketing- leveraging data and technical functionality to identify, target and engage with the right customers, at the right time, with the right message ·

  • Understand Paid Search and propose solutions to ensure maximum ROAS and delivery of targets, working with Brands, agencies and partners (eg Google). ·

  • Leverage UL and External Best practices/case examples; identify global best practices for SEM and SEO and apply to partner projects. ·

  • Acquisition marketing: Identify new ways to drive awareness of the brands as well as traffic to .com/marketplaces ·

  • Understand influencer outreach campaigns, working closely with PR/trading teams on sampling and influencer collaboration opportunities. ·

  • Partner with agencies and internal teams to create and optimize social content and digital creative recommendations. ·

  • Monitor and analyze competitor/external activities on digital-centric initiatives (Innovation/Communication) identifying best practices

What You’ll Need To Succeed ·

  • 5+ years of digital marketing experience; Bachelor's Degree ·

  • Passion for digital space, consumer’s journeys and winning in marketplace ·

  • Knowledge of how to create, test, optimize digital content and experience leading creative/technical agencies and media partnerships ·

  • Solid understanding of digital channels and influencers ·

  • Aptitude and use digital analytics tools, including but not limited to Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics/Target, Facebook Editor, and social media insight platforms ·

  • Solid experience leading communication through Social Media channels ·

  • SEO, SEM, Affiliate, Email/CRM, Consumer Shopping Engine, Display, and emerging digital channels ·

  • Nice to have: Experience with web design tools; Experience in online recruiting or digital marketing for consumer services is a plus
