Background & Purpose of the Job

For Unilever to remain competitive in the future, the business needs to continue its path to become data intelligent. The Information and Analytics team is responsible for building data, data science and analytics as a core capability to help the business become data intelligent and drive business and organization performance. The team will deliver advanced products at scale and work closely with the market teams to ensure that decisions in Unilever are augmented with insight & recommendations wherever possible.

There are five major themes to the Information and Analytics strategy:

Deliver Intelligent systems at scale . Powering Business (cross functional) and Customer Development area through data and analytics. Building out the right applications to enable business teams to move faster, with more accurate and future looking decisions leveraging Big Data & Data Science

Winning disproportionately in Markets . We believe that the best way to move the needle for Unilever in Analytics is to work with leading geographies to create analytics products that make a significant impact on our business

Drive Unilever to assisted and predictive decision-making . The future is about assisted decision-making with machines (AI/Cognitive Computing/Machine Learning) unlocking the insights from vast deluge of consumer, customer & internal data, and presenting this in a way that is simple for our teams. Better data and data science access for every part of Unilever, across the 3 data framework (Connectivity, Growth, Continuous Improvement) and leading through the Enterprise Data Executive.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

The Business Intelligence Expert is a key member of the Information & Analytics team, responsible for transforming and modelling the data, and developing reports and visualization in Power BI with the goal of supporting data driven decision making. This role is a hands-on role meant to build-out and deliver data visualization and business intelligence solutions, that delivers clear value and positive impact to the Unilever business.

Key Accountabilities/Deliverables

Design and develop business intelligence, data warehousing and reporting solutions Work with business users to establish reporting and analytic requirements Translate requirements into functional specifications and build mock-ups to support Power BI report design Develop efficient data warehouse solutions and ETL processes and queries that meet approved requirements Develop and implement interactive analytic reports and dashboards, including automation, deployment, scheduling & distribution of reports and quality reviews using Power BI Perform documentation of design, development, testing and deployment activities Conduct troubleshooting, analysis and enhancement development, based on issues reported Serves as a project leader or project manager as needed, reporting project status, issues, risks, and benefits Able to work across multiple departments, with stakeholders in different countries and companies as well as manage various reviews and sign offs as part of delivery Ensure best practices are used during development activities

What You’ll Need To Succeed

  • 2+ years of heavy hands-on experience developing in Power BI (architecture, design and delivery). Should be able to design, develop and implement Power BI reports.

  • 2+ years of experience in data warehouse architecture and engineering; must be able to manage the end-to-end delivery of data warehousing solutions.

  • Experience performing data modeling in MS SQL stack

  • Strong experience and knowledge of MS Azure Cloud Platform and data management components

  • ETL/ELT experience in traditional data (MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle etc.) and/or Big-Data platform using Hadoop ecosystem (Spark, Hive, Pig, Sqoop, Flume etc.)

  • Project management experience with both waterfall and agile development

  • Ability to communicate analytic and data solutions in an actionable manner to business managers
