Unilever B2B eCommerce Manager in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

Background & Purpose of the Job

Unilever is looking for an enterprising business leader to develop and accelerate Business-to-Business eCommerce in the US. This role calls for not only commercial business acumen, but also the ability to help us envision and build this important area from the ground-up. The role reports to the Vice President of eCommerce and will be responsible for a highly visible growth area.

Accelerating eCommerce enables us to get closer to our consumers, rapidly scale our brands, and fuel faster growth. Developing B2B eCommerce helps us diversify our base in this high growth channel.

As the B2B eCommerce Manager, you will be instrumental in helping the company make headway in B2B eCommerce – a nascent but important area of business. You will partner across different business units and commercial teams within the US to understand the existing businesses, prioritize the best opportunities for ‘now’ and ‘next’, and leverage the cross-functional team and your own commercial business management experience to develop incremental sales. This calls for not only an understanding of the B2B environment as it relates to consumer packaged goods, but also prior operational experience in eCommerce and digital.

What you’ll do:

Business Management & Customer Development

  • Develop business relationships with new customers or distributors that can help us accelerate B2B eCommerce for Unilever’s brands

  • Manage assortment, investment, and execution to deliver incremental sales growth for the company through the B2B channel

  • Identify and remove barriers for growth in partnership with the customer, cross-functionals, and other B2B & eCommerce team members

  • Establish the sales baseline, develop the annual forecast

Program Management & Leadership

  • Develop the project management, cross-functional ways-of-working, and stakeholder management needed to run B2B eCommerce as a business program across the business units & retailer/distributor-facing Customer Development teams

  • Establish the sales baseline, develop the annual forecast, and measure and track performance for the total B2B eCommerce program

  • Influence the right priorities and executional focus across the contributing business teams and team members

  • Identify roadblocks where legacy business processes & systems need to be changed to support quick progress. Challenge the status quo as appropriate, and help the company adopt better ways of doing things.

Opportunity Identification & Development

  • Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and sequence opportunities to drive incremental sales across B2B channels, customers, and relevant portfolio. Work with eCommerce and Customer Development Leadership to secure the right level of resourcing & support needed to deliver on these opportunities.

  • Partner with Brand & Category teams to develop the right assortment needed to capitalize on the B2B opportunity in the long term

  • Work with cross-functional partners across Marketing, Customer Development, Supply Chain, Consumer Market Insights (CMI), and Global B2B owners to help develop a multi-year B2B strategy through eCommerce

Basic Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • 8+ years’ industry experience in Customer Development, Sales, or related commercial roles

  • Prior experience in business-to-business roles, eCommerce roles, or both
