Unilever Associate Brand Manager - New Brand, North America in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey

Background & Purpose of the Job

The Associate Brand Manager is responsible to launch a new brand in a new category in North America in 2018. Supporting a new go-to-market model, this role gives the opportunity to work on creative partnerships, public relations (PR) strategies and media plans, as well as innovative communication tactics in social and digital channels. Working in close quarters with shopper activation teams, customer development teams and operations teams, you will be carving a new launch for a category that currently doesn’t exist for Unilever in North America. It is pivotal that you understand promotions, shopper tactics, point of sale visibility, strategy and design. It is a high visibility role, as the launch of a new brand is always watched closely and presented to the Sr. Leadership team of the organization. Confidence to speak for the new launch plans as well as the ability to defend the strategy to stakeholders will be valued. Bias for action and ability to manage and navigate through a complex system will be needed.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

As the Associate Brand Manager for North America, you will be at the heart of a new brand’s launch in the U.S. market in 2018. Post launch, you will be tasked with developing a campaign and a new go to market launch model through social, PR and digital touchpoints, to name a few, while also tracking the operational excellence as well. You will work with big and small data to tell a brand story, driving decisions rooted in analytics. You will own the marketing budgets. Partnering with Supply Chain, Finance and Demand Planners, you will ensure seamless sales planning and forecasting. You will work hand-in-hand with sales teams and retailers to present new innovations, leading inter-agency teams (digital, PR, ratings and shopper marketing etc.) along the way.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

·Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred

·Minimum 3-5 years of marketing experience preferred, preferably in consumer brand marketing

·Strong bias for action & accountability both for self and others

·Growth and competitive mindset

·Strong interpersonal and communication skills

·Analytic capability to manage & forecast volume, address business issues, chase business opportunities and make strategic recommendations

·Not afraid to dig into the details, question where appropriate and look for opportunities

·Creativity in problem solving
