Roles & Responsibilities:
In the role of Engineering Design Packages (EDP) Electrical Engineer you will:
Analyze technical and commercial documents to develop Engineering Design Package solutions for the installation of turbine-generator controls
Walk job sites and interface directly with customers to determine site conditions and customer requirement
Develop interconnection drawings and cable schedule
Develop equipment general arrangement and power bus routing drawings
Develop specifications and generate ordering drawings for electrical equipment, transformers, power bus and equipment houses
Communicate with internal manufacturing groups and external vendors to ensure all fabrication details are understood.
Required Skills (Technical Competency):
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Minimum 3 years of experience as a field engineer or a design engineer in a power plant or heavy industrial environment, with retrofit installation background
Ability and willingness to travel about 20% of the time, to global customer and vendor sites customer meetings and equipment inspections mainly in US
Desired Skills:
Experienced with GE Excitation and Turbine Control products
Ability to analyze technical specifications and proposals
Ability to develop detailed engineering design packages
Customer service oriented
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to deal with varied and multiple project assignments simultaneously.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Mostly Office Environments
Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9AM to 4PM
Ability to use personal transportation to visit customer locations.
