Job Summary
Join us at Chartwells Higher Education and embark on a culinary journey as our Catering Executive Sous Chef at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi! If you're passionate about creating and implementing innovative culinary solutions, this role is perfect for you.
As our Catering Executive Sous Chef, you'll be at the forefront of our culinary operations, providing onsite expertise for a diverse range of catering events, from casual drop-offs to upscale galas. You'll have the opportunity to showcase your creativity by developing unique and cuisine-appropriate menus, ensuring every event is a culinary delight.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with internal and external clients to manage the catering process from start to finish.
Maintain culinary and service standards, ensuring recipe compliance and food quality.
Foster and maintain client relationships alongside the Catering Manager.
Create and execute unique, cuisine-appropriate menus.
Work with the Catering Manager to establish menu prices and optimize revenue.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue and decrease costs through effective waste management and cost control measures.
Recruit and train kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, and sanitation.
Manage inventory to ensure product availability while staying within established guidelines.
Ensure compliance with health and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Services Technology/Management/or related field; or A.O.S. Degree in Culinary Arts with additional specialized training
3-5 years of relevant culinary experience
Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and oral/written communication skills
Knowledge of food cost and how it pertains to a kitchen, product and quality identification
Knowledge of food and industry trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, safety, food cost controls, and presentation
