As the Senior Category Manager (Director, Retail/Home Center), this role leads all aspects of the entire lifecycle of lighting products within the retail environment. This role involves strategic planning, assortment management, vendor relations, and driving sales growth within the lighting category. The Senior Category Manager (Director, Retail/Home Center) plays a pivotal role in crafting the assortment, optimizing product placement, and ensuring a compelling shopping experience for customers. The Senior Category Manager (Director, Retail/Home Center) is critical in driving the success of the lighting category, requiring a strategic approach, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the retail landscape.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for lighting and fans that is aligned with the overall business objectives.

  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to find opportunities and threats.

  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and efficient replenishment of products.

  • Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions and identify growth opportunities.

  • Partner with Finance Business Partner in programs, pricing, and optimizing growth/profitability.

  • Develop and implement promotional strategies to drive sales and achieve revenue targets.

  • Negotiate terms, contracts, and pricing to ensure favorable agreements for the business.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure the alignment and integration of category strategies.

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop effective campaigns and promotions.

  • Participate in monthly/quarterly reviews with senior mgt on results, key indicators and alignment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

  • Proven experience in category management, preferably within the home improvement or retail industry.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.

  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think strategically and develop actionable plans to achieve business objectives.

  • Knowledge of lighting products and industry trends is highly desirable.

  • Proficient in using data analysis tools and retail management software.

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record to lead and encourage teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of digital marketing channels, tools, and standard processes

Pay Range:

$11,715.30 - $19,057.50

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
