Job Summary:

The Senior Licensing Specialist is responsible for independently handling moderately complex problems, specifically pertaining to the licensing function within the organization. This role necessitates the utilization of in-depth organizational knowledge to come up with pragmatic and innovative solutions, thereby driving improvements across processes and workflows.

**This position will work from their home office with occasional travel to the Chicago, IL headquarters for on-site collaboration and department meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively address and resolve intermediary licensing and certification (Medicare and Medicaid) issues while adhering to regulatory norms and company policies.

  • Efficiently navigate state and federal online databases to implement operational changes

  • Conduct regular reviews of licensing procedures and suggest areas of improvement.

  • Maintain comprehensive records of licensing issues, outcomes, and corresponding action plans.

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to achieve business and operational objectives.

  • Design and implement policies that enhance licensing function efficiency and streamline procedures.

  • Stay updated on the latest industry trends, changes in regulations and shifts in the licensing business.

  • Regular resolution of licensing issues.

  • Plans the upcoming workload for Licensure and Certification - considers deadlines, personnel availability.

  • Supports leadership on strategic licensure and certification matters.

  • Partners on licensure and certification issues surrounding acquisitions.

  • Interacts with outside counsel, federal and state regulatory agencies and government contractors on licensure and certification matters.

  • Reads and reviews state and federal regulations applicable to state licensure and Medicare, Medicaid and other payor enrollment processes.

  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company policies.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Detail-oriented, organized.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with an ability to solve moderately complex problems.

  • High-level organizational knowledge and acute sensitivity to organizational workflows.

  • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong communication skills, oral and written.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management, or a related field is required.

  • Additional certifications in Project Management or related areas are preferred.

  • Candidate must have 3-5 years of experience in licensing roles or similar positions in an organization.

Physical Requirements:

  • Remote and office based in downtown Chicago

  • Majority (90%) of work is conducted indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities.

  • Work is accomplished in an office or cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
