Unilever Production Engineer in Chicago, Illinois
“Bring Out the Best” – Hellmann’s Mayonnaise is seeking a Production Engineer who will be responsible for driving current and future manufacturing performance. You will apply focused improvement methods and tools to attack losses in the areas of Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost. This role is responsible for managing the shift crew (50 operators and technicians) and the execution of manufacturing/autonomous maintenance activities.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do:
The Production Engineer role is a hybrid between the Production Supervisor and the Process Engineer roles that reports through the Operations team. Working directly with Mechanics, Technicians, and Operators daily, the Production Engineer acts as the technical advisor for line teams and provides coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis and the establishment of counter-measures. As a Production Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the operation and the advancement of autonomous maintenance activities. The goal of these activities is to eliminate breakdowns due to lack of basic conditions through restoration of machine centers and development/upkeep of cleaning, inspection, lubrication, and refastening tasks.

What You’ll Need To Succeed:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical)
2 years of experience in an manufacturing related role
A solid background in implementing continuous improvement strategies
The ability to approach others to seek understanding and clearly communicate complex information across levels and functions
