PeopleReady Low Voltage Wiring Technician in Chesapeake, Virginia

PeopleReady Skilled Trades is seeking a commercial and residential Low Voltage Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot various low-voltage systems. The individual must know how to pull, terminate, dress, test, and label CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6a, and Fiber data cables. Must have knowledge of installing devices including camera/CCT and installing, terminating racks, cable trays, patch panels, cabinets, MDF/IDF, workstation outlets, firestopping etc. Must be able to pass a criminal background and drug screen. Must have a good driving record. Must be willing to get vaccinated for COVID, FLU and TB. This is a temporary to permanent position. Apply Today!! START IMMEDIATELY!!

NOTE - The pay rate for this job is $22 - $28 / hour

 Responsibilities:

  • Run and install new low-voltage equipment and cabling.

  • Installation of various types of pathway support; cable tray, and support rings.

  • Identify, pull, label, terminate, test cables.

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose failed equipment to specifications.

  • Preventative maintenance and service on video surveillance, card readers, and other access related equipment.

  • Abide by OSHA safety guidelines, and practices while on each job site.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • 2 years residential and commercial low voltage installation experience.

  • 2 years commercial access control installation experience.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and plans.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Must be able to pass background and drug screen.

  • Must be willing to get vaccinated for COVID, FLU, and TB.

  • Must have a clean driving record and valid driver's license.
