We currently have an opening for a Team Lead - Press Department on the 1st shift, available at our Cary, IL facility. ProAmpac is looking for you to join our team!

Essential Tasks/Duties

This position is responsible for meeting the goals and objectives of the organization by overseeing or assisting with the day-to-day activities for the press department(s) or machine center(s). Ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining quality standards, and providing leadership to a team of operators to meet production targets.

Lead and coach a team of press operators to meet production goals, coordinating or assisting with activities of team members as necessary.

  • Monitors processes to address issues, minimize downtime, and maximize efficiency, seeks out opportunities to improve established manufacturing practices, and anticipates inefficiencies, bringing constructive solutions.

  • Enforces quality control measures to meet specifications and customer requirements.

  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement solutions, collaborating with maintenance teams and any other applicable departments.

  • Trains and provides coaching to employees.

  • Support an environment that aligns with ProAmpac's core values, while ensuring the team is following protocols pertaining to safety, quality, production, documentation, reporting, and any other applicable manufacturing process or procedures.

  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures, to prevent accidents or injuries. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment(PPE) as required by safety policies and reports any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate team member, hold all departmental EE’s accountable to those standards.

  • Communicates production status and performance trends to management. Maintain or improve report out metrics and boards.

  • Support activities including analysis of department costs, investigation of significant variances, corrective actions, and communication too teams of actions taken.

  • Effectively works with other departments or team members, such as production scheduling, maintenance team members, supervisors, and machine operators to ensure timely production and prioritization of orders.

  • Monitor departmental operator and maintenance PM’s for attainment and effectiveness.

  • Actively review the departments tooling and resources (aniloxs, sleeves, etc) for effectiveness and wear, address issues as needed.

  • Ensure inks and plates are properly reviewed and approved along with ordered, disposed, reused, and managed.

  • Ownership of the departments care plan, overall cleanliness and upkeep of the equipment in conjunction with maintenance.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • HS/GED required; AS preferred.

  • 2-4 years' experience in a related field preferred.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

  • Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.

  • Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.

  • Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision-making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.

  • Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

Experience

  • 2-5 years: 2-5 years' experience in a related field preferred.
