Electrical Power and Energy Conservation Program Engineer(S5045PO)

University of Vermonts Facilities Management is recruiting an individual for a full-time benefits eligible position as an Electrical Power and Energy Conservation Program Engineer. This position is responsible for the integrity and reliability of power to university buildings and the distribution within buildings. They will utilize data to develop and ensure that effective preventive and predictive maintenance programs are in place. Engineers engage with campus partners and local utilities to develop strategies to reduce energy consumption on campus, and they promote, recommend, and implement renewable energy projects to reduce the universitys reliance on non-renewable resources. They also recommend solutions resulting from changing regulatory dynamics and rate changes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering discipline with two to five years experience in power engineering, energy management, and computer modelling skills for both are required.
  • Power distribution experience in commercial or industrial applications.
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM). E.I.T.,E.I. or F.E certificate.
  • Computer skills for typical office software and the ability to learn new software are required.
  • Effective communication skills are required.
