General Purpose

The BCA Production Internship is a fast-paced, hands-on internship focused on presenting multiple live music, DJ and movie events each week. This internship presents real-world experience with production and event management, live mixing, lighting, working with performing artists and presenting outdoor movies. The intern team is an essential part of BCAs summer events coming to life for the community.\ \ This is an unpaid internship eligible for a \$600.00 stipend and the ability to earn college credit at University of Vermont and St. Michael\'s College, and other schools on a case by case basis.

Essential Job Functions

  • A desire to learn new technology in the entertainment industry
  • A desire to work on a team of both professionals and peers that are learning
  • The ability to maintain a schedule, arrive on time, and work for long periods of time, on occasion
  • The comfort to work outside, in diverse environments such as City Hall Park and the Church Street Marketplace while doing your best work and maintaining a professional level of work.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements

  • Ability to actively support City diversity, equity, and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
  • Poses a strong interest in live sound, lighting and event, production or artist management.
  • Ability to work with professional performing artists.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general public
  • Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Regular attendance is necessary and is essential to meeting the expectations of the job functions.
  • Ability to understand and comply with City standards, safety rules and personnel policies.
