TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • In your new role, you will make a significant impact on the success of our Global Sourcing Clinical Development team by applying your strategical strength, persuasiveness and assertiveness. You will be in charge of sourcing for a global Human and Animal Health Clinical Services categories in this position.

  • You assume responsibility for the worldwide category, which is directed in a highly centralized manner by consistently questioning the existing state of affairs. Identifying enhancements and convincing the upper management to follow new ways of working, will be part of your responsibility.

  • In this position, you will act as the global supplier manager for our core providers, responsible for establishing and enforcing a robust governance system to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

  • One of the key aims of this role is to enhance the existing relationships with our external strategic partners. Beyond that you will closely monitor the market and identify players which fit best to our needs.

  • Through your dedication to driving innovation, you will maintain a vigilant watch on the supply markets. Key activities are to search and find new partners, service providers and solutions for your category. You analyze & mitigate risks while exploring new prospects.

  • You handle large quantities of requests on your own and guarantee successful negotiation outcomes. The resulting contracts meet our business needs are managed in close alignment with our internal business partners.

  • In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams that will implement cutting-edge methods of working to elevate BI to the next level in terms of speed, cost, value generation, new technologies, and optimization of buying channels.

As Senior Category Manager you additionally have the following tasks:

  • Your extensive knowledge and innovative ideas are valuable in driving cross-category projects to success.

  • In addition, Sourcing matters in cross-category topics revolve around you.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Master's degree in business administration is preferred, but equivalent professional training, like a Bachelor's degree, combined with several years of experience in procuring services/goods for a pharmaceutical company, ideally in global category management, will also be considered

  • Sound knowledge of applicable market intelligence and sourcing experience in the respective category area of clinical development are of advantage

  • Understanding of demand management, market and supplier analysis, compliance management, due diligence, risk management, innovation, supplier management, contract management, negotiation techniques and other established sourcing methodologies

  • An open-minded, motivated, persuasive, and perseverant personality with outstanding internal and external relationship management skills in combination with the willingness to take on further responsibilities

  • Extensive experience in managing international projects with proven track record of substantial accomplishments as well as experience in leading cross-functional teams that consist of internal and external partners

  • Team player with intercultural awareness and strong communication skills in English; Knowledge of the German language is a plus

Additional requirements as Senior Category Manager:

  • Master’s degree in business administration with several years of experience in procuring services/goods for a pharmaceutical company, ideally in global category management

  • Long years track record in working in Sourcing combined with knowledge of complex category strategies and stakeholder management.

Please note: This role can be based remote however, travel to Germany is required every 1-2 months for 3-4 days.
