Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Metallurgist. Principal duties of the successful candidate will include:

• Participating in safety and housekeeping efforts
• Lead process optimization activities, both quality and cost
• Provide technical support and training for all operational activities
• Utilizing statistical process control tools to direct continuous improvement activities
• Working closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure continuous improvement.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of science in engineering from an accredited university

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor\'s degree or higher in materials or metallurgical engineering
• Experience with customer order inquiries, technical specifications and complaint resolution
• 3 yrs. experience in steel making, emphasis on cold rolling/annealing
• Experience with automotive customers/applications
